Mt 6:9-13  "Your kingdom come"  (The Lord's Prayer #3)

  Today, in continuation of our sermon series on the Lord's prayer, Let's look at few aspects of today's passage of "Your kingdom come."

1.  What is the Kingdom of God?

  The kingdom of God is the world which is reigned by the Spirit of God,  “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,”(Rom. 14:17)  meaning, the kingdom is ruled by holy spirit. and the righteousness which comes from right relationship with our God. and we will receive peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Jesus says, ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.(Matt 6:33)  Kingdom of God can be built in our mind. , “ Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst" (Luke 17:20-21 )”  “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”(Matt 5:3).  Yes. peoples who are poor in spirit will own the kingdom of heaven. those who confess that I am a sinner before God, I am nothing before God. (Hym #438 “)

2. What can we do to manifest the kingdom of God?

1) We have to spread gospel..
The kingdom of God can be expanded by His gospel.. We have to spread his words to make it happen.  Jesus told his disciples in Matt 28:18 " Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Also,  "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”(Acts 1:8)” Yes. We have to make disciples and spread Gospel to have his kingdom comes.

2) We have to pray for His kingdom to come.
Jesus is waiting for our prayers. Jesus says, Seek, Find and Knock . Let's pray with fervency for his kingdom to come to our family, our church, our neighbor, our nation. God is looking for justice and fairness and peace. One Bible scholar says that 'Your Kingdom Come' should be translated "Set the world right."’  His kingdom is eternal.  Everyone is welcomed if you believe in Jesus.  It is the kingdom filled with righteous, peace and Joy.  Let's pray the prayer Jesus taught us.  Let's abide in the operation of faith and experience the coming of His kingdom.

3) We have to live as citizens of His kingdom.
 We are citizens of Heaven. “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Phil 3:20).  We  have to live like the citizens of God's kingdom.  We have the fragrance of God as a citizens of his kingdom. We, each of us reflect the face of Jesus. We are face of our church . We will show the light of Jesus when our face shines with the joy and happiness.. so we can be a witness of Jesus. We will be a mirror of Jesus to others from the way we live and influence others from the way we talk , act and live.. so they will confess that they want to be like Jesus, too, and ask you how? I pray in Jesus name that you all become the believers who continue to exercise yourselves on to godliness and be blessed. Amen!
