Acts 13:1-12 We are churches that evangelizes

13: 1-12
1. In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.  2. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."  3. So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. 4. The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. 6. They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus,
7. who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.  8. But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.
9. Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 10. "You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? 11. Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you will be unable to see the light of the sun." Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12. When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.

<Master Key of Salvation, Jesus Christ>
Life without Jesus is a vanity. Without Jesus, we have no fun or joy in life. Jesus Christ is the master of life.

   * A story of 'Boonguh Bread'
Let us hear the voice of God through the Word today.

1. The church has unity in diversity (1).

Verse 1, "In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul."
All five leaders of Antioch church are diverse. But they are one in God the Holy Spirit. They are a family of God who worship together, pray, and hear the voice of God. Ephesians 4:1-6, the church is one in diversity. v. 3, 'Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.'

2. Set apart evangelists according to the Holy Spirit and send them to the world (2-4).

Verse 2, They served the Lord (worship). they fasted and prayed. Listen to the voice of God to set Barnabas and Saul apart.
Verse 3, they fasted and prayed earnestly and obeyed these words. Ordinate the two people and send them to mission.

Verse 4, They were sent to Cyprus and Turkey to preach the Gospel. Today we also worship together and listen to God's voice. Those who are called to go into the world to preach the gospel after worship.
Meditation essay (Power of fasting and prayer), Pray as you prepare a team of evangelists to go out into the world and save their souls.

3. The Holy Spirit will make them believe in Jesus (4-12).

4-12, There is interference in our evangelism. The devil and the evil spirits hate it the most. But we, like Saul, have to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and we will repel the obstruction and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that the gospel door will open on our way.

The process by which a soul is saved. 1) The evangelist must be filled with the Holy Spirit. 2) Pray enough. 3) Respond well to disturbing groups. 4) There will be people who believe in Jesus by seeing the miracles of God. Amen.

My beloved saints, Be filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly bear testimony of your Lord and Savior, and establish the fruit of the gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit. I wish you a blessed faithful to save your family and your neighbors as evangelists of the Lord. Amen.
