Exposition of the Lord’s prayer 3: Mt.6:9-13,Ex.16_4,Phil.4_19,Jn.6_48…

Mt. 6:9-13,  9."This, then, is how you should pray: "`Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10.your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11.Give us today our daily bread. 12.Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  13.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory. Amen.“
Ex. 16:4, Then the LORD said to Moses, "I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.
Jn.6:47-51, 47.  I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. 48.  I am the bread of life. 49.  Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. 50.  But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. 51.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
Phil.4:19, And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Prov.30:7-9, 7."Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die:  8.Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.  9.Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, `Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

Today, listen to the words of Lord's Prayer, “your will be done on earth, give us our daily bread.”

1. May your will be done on earth. A young man took down Bible verses every day and searched for the Lord's will. 1) Mt27:5, He hung himself. 2) Lk10:37, "Go and do likewise." 3) Jn13:27, "Do it quickly." In the end, he gave up reading the Bible.

 What is the way to find and fulfill the Lord's will? 1) Know the Lord's will. It is in the Bible. Rom12:1-2, Ephesians 5:17. Read the Bible 15 minutes a day/Pray, evangelize, practice love. 2) Live by practicing the will of God that Jesus did. Jn4:34, 6:38, Lk2:42, “Not my will, but yours be done.”

There are three important wills that Jesus said. ① Preaching(Mk1:38). ② Serving(Mk10:45). ③ Testifying to the truth (Jn18:37). 3) Now let us live in obedience to the will of our Father God. *A. Pollard, Jer18:3,4. Hymn 425, “My Lord, do as you will.”

2. Give us our daily bread today (11; Ex16:4, Phil4:19, Prov30:7-9)

1) God gives us our daily bread. Why? Based on Ex16:4. “Gather your daily portion every day.” Look at the painting “The Gathering of the Manna” by Peter Lubens (1577-1640). Do not rely on people or the world, but rely on God alone. Phil4:19, George Muller’s testimony, More than 50,000 answered prayers. Prov30:7-9, “Feed me with the daily bread.” 2) Pray, “Please feed me with the food of the flesh and the food of the spirit” (Jn6:48-51)

My fellow saints, I bless you all to know God’s will well, fulfill God’s will like Jesus, and receive abundant spiritual and physical food to grow and mature. Amen.
