Col. 1:13-23, See, Jesus Christ, Lord of all things

As much as we know Jesus, we can live a life of faith well. Who is the Jesus Christ we believe in? Through today's text, God speaks Jesus Christ's lordship in three ways.

1. See the Creator Jesus Christ (15-17)
15-17, All things were created in Him, through Him, and for Him. Christian faith begins with creation faith (Gn.1:1). If this is certain, the whole scripture is believed. Jesus Christ is the Creator of all things. I wish you a happy new year living only with the Creator Jesus.
<Application> Do you believe in Jesus the Creator and trust your everything to Him?

2. See Jesus Christ the Redeemer (13-14, 18-22a)
13-14, Jesus rescues us from the 'dominion of darkness' (sin, death, devil, despair, curse, darkness, etc.) He moved us to the country (life, light, hope). Verses 20-22, He made peace with the blood of the cross and made us reconciled to God, and made us believe in Him and become a new person (3:10), a new thing, a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Our Creator is our Redeemer (Is. 43:1).
<Application> Are you redeemed by the blood of Jesus, forgiven of your sins, enjoying peace, and living in peace and light?

3. See Jesus Christ, the Head of all things (18-19, 21-23)
18-19, Jesus is the head of His body, the church. The head is the command tower and the members are the action squad. Are you obeying the commands of Jesus, the head? Jesus is all fullness. What are we trying to fill the emptiness of life with? Money, power, knowledge beauty? All fullness is found only in Jesus. Jesus alone is our greatest hope.
How should we live now that we have been reconciled by the blood of Jesus on the cross?
1) We, who were enemies with God due to our evil deeds, were reconciled to God (21,22). 2) The purpose of reconciliation is to live as a holy, blameless, and above reproach. 3) Let us continue to stand firm on the foundation of faith(Jesus Christ) and not be shaken by the hope of the gospel (23).
<Application> What are the evil deeds to avoid in order to live a holy life before God?

Why do our problems such as wandering, dissatisfaction, and suffering arise today? It is because they do not fully worship or trust the Lord Jesus Christ. Now let's serve only the Creator, Redeemer, and Head, Jesus, and live with full grace in Him.
God speaks.
1) Jesus Christ is your Creator
2) Only Jesus Christ can heal you
3) Only follow the instructions of Jesus Christ absolutely. Amen.
